Key Responsibilities
General Ledger & Journal Management: Prepare working spreadsheets, manage monthly journal entries (including accruals, provisions, and prepayments), and ensure proper authorization before upload into the GL.
Financial Reconciliations: Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and inter-regional transaction reconciliations, ensuring all discrepancies are identified and resolved.
Budgeting & Cost Allocation: Assist with budget and forecast processes by comparing results to projections and ensuring accurate template loading. Monitor expenditures to ensure they remain within budget and are supported by valid documentation.
Statutory Compliance: Handle the preparation and submission of statutory documentation, including VAT returns and Stats SA forms.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
A minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience.
Professional certification is considered an advantage.
Competencies & Skills
Advanced proficiency in MS Office (specifically Excel).
Strong analytical capabilities, effective planning and coordination, and the ability to support and collaborate with others.
Exceptional attention to detail, a commitment to high-quality customer service, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
